Bang Bang Shrimp
Bang Bang Shrimp by Monica Lo of Sousweed for Budzy Box
Products: Potli Chili Oil, (Honey & Sriracha optional)
Serves 2
Dosage: 5mg CBD per serving
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp hot water
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tsp Sriracha
1 clove garlic, finely minced
0.5 fl oz Potli Hemp-CBD Chili Oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 lb large shrimp, shelled and deveined
1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cornstarch
Canola oil for frying
1 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
1 Tbsp scallion, chopped
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds, to garnish
Directions:
1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk honey with hot water to loosen the consistency. Add mayonnaise, Sriracha, minced garlic and Potli Hemp-CBD Chili oil.
Whisk until uniform.
Salt and pepper to taste.
2. In a separate mixing bowl, add buttermilk and shrimp. Stir to coat completely.
3. Remove shrimp from buttermilk and drain on a wire rack before
coating fully in cornstarch.
4. In a deep cast iron, add 2 inches of canola oil and heat on medium high until the temperature reaches 375ºF.
5. Gently add shrimp into the oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
Fry for 2minutes on each side, until lightly golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
6. Toss the fried shrimp in the sauce to fully coat before plating.
Garnish with cilantro, scallion, and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.
